Mosaic Parking Structure

Alhambra, California

Located at 19500 Vallco Parkway, this seven level parking structure, five stories above grade and two stories below grade, is the central parking hub for the Cupertino Main Street Development. The 18.7 acre site was developed by Sandhill Property Company in 2014 and comprises a 180 room hotel, two 130,000 square feet office buildings, 130,500 square feet of retail and a 120 unit apartment building. The architectural design of the parking garage was provided by International Parking Design who assisted Kenneth Rodrigues and Partners, the prime architect for the development.

The parking garage structure utilizes a 5 ½ inch thick one-way concrete post tensioned slab spanning between 62 feet long span post tensioned concrete beams spaced at 20 feet on center.

The garage infrastructure includes adaptive lighting sensors and parking space LED indicators to aid in the search for vacant parking spaces. Careful coordination with South Bay Construction was required for the placement of this system and the conduit for the lighting, security and low voltage systems within the thin slab avoiding the reinforcement and post-tension tendons.

Largo Concrete was the crucial sub-contractor that dealt with forming and placement of all of the primary concrete post tensioned structure.
