Purple Line Subway Extension Phase 03

A blast evaluation and design effort was provided for buried mission critical utilities and associated junction structures at the new L.A. Metro Purple Line Veterans Affairs West L.S. Hospital Station.
Ground shock and soil-structure interaction effects were evaluated relative to Department of Veterans Affairs high-explosive terrorist threats. The resulting blast mitigations were coordinated with the design-build contractor to achieve continuity of operations for the critical hospital infrastructure after a design-level attack.
