Santa Barbara County, CA

Landslide Repair Foundation Landslide Repair Foundation

Working as a sub-consultant to Cotton Shires and Associates Geotechnical Engineers, Hohbach-Lewin, Inc. is providing structural design for a $50M landslide repair project in Santa Barbara County.

Cotton Shires' client is the Landslide Repair Foundation, a non-profit foundation established to manage repair funds resulting from a class action lawsuit filed by a group of homeowners in the Sycamore Canyon estates.

This multi-year project has been subdivided into seven phases of work consisting of hundreds of high strength, grouted tiebacks (each tieback is typically stressed to 312 kips!), and hundreds of lineal feet of massive retaining walls constructed with heavily reinforced 42 in diameter piers spaced 6 to 8 feet on center and drilled to depths of 60 feet or more with shotcrete lagging. HOHBACH-LEWIN SUGARBOWL THURSDAY
ANNUAL SKI TRIP - 2010!

The first clue that the Hohbach-Lewin April e-mailer is very late is we're just now getting around to talking about the fourth annual: Sugar Bowl Thursday, get-a-way Hohbach-Lewin Ski Trip!

Good snow, good times, and good thing no one broke a leg or missed work on the next day!

Thanks to Michael Resch for organizing this event, ordering the pizzas, and bringing the zombie movie for the ride home; thanks to Dan Lewin for bringing the doughnuts and once again, no thanks to annual no show, Anthony Lee for once again refusing to bring the comic relief.

The bus left Palo Alto 6:00am sharp and had all 40 of the happy but tired Hohbach-Lewin clients and employees back by 9:00pm! Mark your calendars for early March 2011 to call Michael to reserve your spot on next year's trip.
