The entire project team utilized REVIT for the 3-D modeling of this new 3-story steel braced frame classroom building.
Utilizing industry standard structural detailing software, TEKLA, Hohbach-Lewin, Inc. produced steel fabrication simultaneously with production of the design drawings. Approved steel shop drawings were ready to go the same day DSA permits were pulled and were included in the bid documents.
The district, by retaining Hohbach-Lewin to also produce shop drawings, achieves a truly integrated design solution. This approach greatly reduces chances for delays and change orders resulting from mis-interpretations of structural design. Perhaps most importantly, it also allowed for the steel procurement schedule to be shortened by six to eight weeks!
