The Central County Campus is a new, $16.5 million, 77,000 SF facility in Newport, Oregon. The campus will house classrooms, labs, vocational and trade shops, a library, student services and administrative and instructional support functions.
Construction of the Central Campus includes a variety of materials: the 2-story portion utilizes CMU walls at the first floor, steel wide flange beams and columns supporting a second floor concrete deck, and wood stud walls and a wood framed roof above the second floor. The single story portions of the facility are wood framed, with glue-laminated long span trusses at the high bay community room. Construction of the facility is expected to be completed by June 2009.
